The Alarm - Standards (Red/White) 2LP

$40

The Alarm formed in Rhyl, Wales in 1981, evolving out of their earlier punk outfit the Toilets, led by vocalist Mike Peters. Drawing on arena rock dynamics and infused with a distinctly Welsh spirit, they rose quickly by sharing stages with the likes of U2 and Bob Dylan. Throughout the 1980s they stood as friendly rivals to U2—a Welsh counterpart marked by the same righteous urgency, Clash-inspired fire, and towering anthems. Standards, originally released by I.R.S. Records in 1990, brings together some of their most enduring songs, including “Sixty Eight Guns,” “Marching On,” “Spirit of ’76,” and “Sold Me Down the River.”  This vinyl 2LP reissue comes in a gatefold jacket with one disc solid red and one disc solid white.
